According to a press release, Famous Underground’s sound and music is edgy, melodic and hooky bringing a paradigm shift to the arena of rock. It’s been said, that they have created something fresh and exciting in an otherwise stagnated genre. With the conclusion that no-one has definitive comparisons, Carl Begai writer with elite hard rock/metal magazine BW&BK describes the new recording as “it’s a darker if-METALLICA-were-GUNS N’ ROSES direction with this brand new album.

Famous Underground’s self-titled studio release produced by Nick Walsh, and mixed by Darius Szczepaniak (THE BLACK CROWES, SACRIFICE) at Rouge Valley Studio in Toronto. The new recording takes Walsh’s writing to a more defined state where the lyrics delve more into the complexities of the real world.

These musicians have independently garnered critical acclaim supporting such acts as MÖTLEY CRÜE, DEF LEPPARD, KID ROCK, BLACK SABBATH, BILLY TALENT, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, APRIL WINE and many other international acts.

NICK WALSH HAS BEEN A HERO OF MINE SINCE THE FIRST TIME I PICKED UP S.T.’S EP “SMOOTH & DEADLY” BACK IN 94 or 95 when I was in highschool at 14 or 15 yrs old, And forging my way as a lead singer & frontman…did I mention I was 15?!?…This was an amazing era for the Fans of Rock N’ Roll…because There was not only MTV’s HeadBangers Ball, but There was “METAL EDGE Magazine!!! Who waHUGE s a contributor on getting the word out on “THE” UP-AND-COMING BANDS that had THE 2 THINGS THAT ANY BAND AT THE END OF THE 90’S NEEDED TO MAKE ANY KIND OF SPLASH, & WOULD GET the WORD OF MOUTH OUT THAT WAS NECCESARY/IMPERATIVE TO EVEN GET A CHANCE – *LOOK FUCKIN’ GREAT & HAVE SUPER CATCHY KICK ASS SONGS THAT SOUND KILLER!! So at that time- there were two worlds in Rock N’ Roll …The Supergroups that toured arenas…(eg SKIDS, GNR, * MOTLEY, Poison, Warrant…) And the bands I loved the most were bands like Slik Toxik Spread Eagle, Dangerous Toys, Faster Pussycat..Shotgun Messiah, & D-A-D,.and other bands like …I even had a record store in Mesa, Az. put my name on a really cool promo 2 sided padded piece of poster board which was just 2 Promotional Posters for “Doin’ The Nasty” – But to me it was The coolest thing!! And when I took it home, I hung it in the center of my room hung by a piece of fishing line… Bands like that instilled something in me… The message of Rock N’ Roll..it happen to choose me to pass the same message on…& now at 36 yrs old Ive toured the world..I live in HOLLYWOOD, CA. – And Am “The Bastard Son Of The Sunset Strip”!! Thank you Nick!! I love you and am stoked to hear what you have next in store for the world…We’re listening!!!
